ARTIST LOWELL ISAAC JOINS WRITER MARTIN POWELL ON MARTIANS, GO HOME

Sequential Pulp Comics and Dark Horse Comics are very pleased to announce the new artist for Martians, Go Home. Allow me to introduce Lowell Isaac, using his own words:

"I'm a lifelong writer/illustrator, I studied film at the Art Institute of Chicago and printmaking at the John Herron School of Art and Design, and I'm currently employed by Author House Publishing. I'm a collector of oddities, a science buff, and a family man."

Michael Hudson sates, "Lowell is such a great addition to our growing group of talented writers and artists. I believe he is going to work magic with Martin's adaptation of Fredric Brown's classic paranoia sci-fi story."

Martians, Go Home is written by the comparable Martin Powell, based on the classic sci-fi dark comedy by Fredric Brown, and will be published by Sequential Pulp Comics/Dark Horse Comics in 2012.

You'll never think of Alien Invasion the same way ever again.

SEQUENTIAL  PULP  COMICS LANDS RICHARD  PRATHER'S SHELL SCOTT LICENSE

Dick Prather's inimitable, incomparable SHELL SCOTT returns in a series of graphic novels scripted by Mark Ellis  with art by his Justice Machine partner, David Enebral. Publisher Michael Hudson says, "We owe a lot to Linda Pendleton for making this a reality. I've been planning this for over three years and can't wait to see what our team does with the property."

Ellis had this to share. "Shell (Scott) is the first literary private eye I was exposed to. Dick Prather's books were what ignited my interest in the genre. I don't think people now realize just how enormously popular and even influential the Shell Scott series was for 20 plus years. What's even more amazing is that the entertainment value still holds up today."

The first three books to be adapted are Kill The ClownDead Man's Walk and  Pattern For Panic. The adaptations should run 44 pages in length and are expected to come out bi-annually through Sequential Pulp joint publishing partner, Dark Horse Comics.

MARTIN POWELL AND JAMIE CHASE ARE FAITHFUL TO SHERLOCK HOLMES

Our most prolific writer, Martin Powell, recently turned up a 58 page script adapting Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's gothic masterpiece, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES.  Martin is no novice to Doyle or Holmes having written SHERLOCK HOLMES IN THE LOST WORLD and the highly acclaimed SCARLET IN GASLIGHT On HOUND Powell is teamed with the amazing Jamie Chase. Jamie is well known for his fine arts and illustration work and for several critically acclaimed graphic novels of his own. I don't think we could have a better pairing of writer and artist. Both are listening to Sherlockians worldwide as they comment on the book's progression. Here are some character study images. You be the judge.

Sequential Pulp Comics, a highly anticipated new graphic-novel line distributed by Dark Horse, will launch in September!

This new line will bring to life works of classic literature, 1950s paperbacks, and other stories. The series comes out of the gates with Victor Hugo’s classic literary work The Hunchback of Notre Dame
, a forty-four-page graphic novella that marks Tim Conrad’s first new work in twenty years!

“Michael and I share a love for great stories, no matter where they come from. I grew up with these great works of science fiction, adventure, the supernatural, and crime noir,” said Dark Horse president Mike Richardson. “I can’t wait to see how Michael and his talented teams of artists and writers will breathe new life into them in this exciting new series of graphic novels.”

“We intend to simplify matters by foregoing single-issue comics, at least at first, and going straight to the graphic novel. In doing this we reach all markets including digital at the same time, and I believe the modern comics audience is hungry for complete stories,” said Sequential Pulp president Michael Hudson. “Our goal is to tell great stories and accentuate them with excellent art.” He concluded by saying, “Mike Richardson is a personal mentor and his vision has been one of greatness for Dark Horse for twenty-five years. I like surrounding myself with successful people, and with his help I know this can be a success.”

With titles scheduled into 2013, this new line is sure to please modern comics fans, as well as others who remember these classic works of fiction. Other upcoming titles include Dick Briefer and Mary Shelley’s The Monster of Frankenstein
, Harry Whittington’s noir masterpiece A Night for Screaming, and many others.
