A stunning page from artist Reno Maniquis for Sequential Pulp/Dark Horse Comics' BLACK AMAZON OF MARS as adapted by Mark Ellis. Man, this was a tough call as Reno did the page in full color as well as this red tint version which we opted to go with. Enjoy!
And just for the heck of it here is the full color version. Tough choice, huh?

Really looking forward to this project. A friend of mine turned me on to the Stark stories two years ago via the Planet Stories reprints, and since then, I've become a big fan of the era of stories. That Reno is doing the art is just icing on the cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Jim! I'm not sure why the comics industry has overlooked the Stark stories all these years. We think they're terrific and contain all the elements for a successful franchise. And you are so right, having Reno on the art really is icing to the cake. He and Mark Ellis, our writer, are having a ball putting this book together. I hope you'll stay in touch and if you haven't done so already that you'll join the Sequential Pulp Comics Group on facebook where you can interact with our creators and other fans. Cheers!
DeleteBspoke Entertainment of New Mexico is pitching THE WORLDS OF STARK, THE SERIES. It is a One-Hour Drama based on the Skaith Novels. That sounds good to me, whoever produces it can take their time with these great stories and really get involved with telling it properly. They probably want to include some other Eric John Stark stories to fill out the series. I can't wait!
